One Scrapper's Existence: St. Patty's Day & Easter! And a bunch of other stuff :)

2/20: Great. Makenna has a fever and really sore throat. I might need to get a sub for my class at church tomorrow. :(

Later that night: It's gonna be a long freaking night with Makenna! She kept waking up, crying, every 20 -30 min. and now she's next to me on the couch as I try to watch "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" between her crying. Now she thinks she might puke. Fun. Poor Kenna.

2/21: Poor Makenna "puked" (just liquids and gunk, since she didn't eat dinner) last night 3 times before we went to bed, then at 1, 3 & 6am (oh, and Avery woke up at 7 and wanted breakfast *yawn*). Makenna hasn't puked since 6 but definitely doesn't feel well and hasn't eaten yet. We had to stay home from church, of course, but the bright side of that is I'm getting to watch today's LSU ballgame and I just saw them score a grand slam! I should be napping, ha ha.

2/24: Fun day at the aquarium but sad Daddy couldn't come with us. The girls played in the fun center for a while after we saw everything in the aquarium.

2/26: Even though I don't feel well today (sore throat, coughing, runny nose, headache, ect.), I found this amusing: I started the movie "Nanny McPhee" for the girl and at the very beginning, when the guy is talking about his seven kids who "are all very clever but all very, very, very naughty", I asked the girls if my kids are naughty. Avery said, "No" but Makenna said, "Sometimes!" :D

2/27: Daddy/daughters outing at Farm Country and the dinosaur museum while I get to watch LSU baseball in peace. :)

3/1: The twins and I met Jared in SLC to go to dinner, go swimming, and stay with him at a hotel, which he is staying at for a 2-day business training.

Can't handle the sweetness! I think this is the first time that they have slept in the same bed at a hotel--Jared and I usually each end up with one of them (two beds).

3/11: Worried for my hometown (where my parents still live). My parents' neighborhood streets are flooded but, thankfully, the water didn't rise high enough to get into the house. My brother's car was on the street and got water in it but they were able to start it and get up it into the driveway. Praying for my friends and family back home!

3/16: I left a pile of clothes in the living room last night, with the intention to fold and put them away this morning. This is what the girls did before I got out of bed this morning. Funny girls. At least they folded the towels, if that's what you can call folded.

Avery has LOVED this outfit for at least 2 years. It just keeps getting smaller and smaller on her but she refuses to give it up. I was hoping that the new Hello Kitty shirt and dress she got for her birthday would help her let go of this outfit but nope. I let her wear it just around the house and she promises every time that "today will be the last time", ha ha!

Our leprechaun trap is ready! The girls painted the box, cut out the rainbow & the "Happy St. Patrick's Day", and glued all of the shamrocks on. The plan is that the leprechaun will climb up on top to get the gold coins and fall through the tissue paper in the middle when he goes to get that one. We had fun making it!

3/17: Our St. Patrick's Day morning: Of course, the first thing the girls wanted to do when we woke up this morning was go and see if we caught the leprechaun. Makenna was super interested but didn't want to go in the kitchen; she stayed in the living room to watch me and Avery open the leprechaun trap box. Avery was mildly disappointed that we didn't catch him but was happy that he left treats; he also left a note explaining how he got away. We also discovered that the naughty leprechaun colored our milk green, as well as our toilet water, and drew on the girls' bathroom mirror (in green, of course). Their breakfast consisted of my sorry attempt at shamrock pancakes. I love doing this kind of stuff with my kids!

Here's a video of us opening the leprechaun trap. Avery's reaction was pretty cute. :) Makenna refused to come close until we found out there wasn't a leprechaun in there, ha ha!!

3/22: These pictures were taken on Sunday when the girls were having fun with Uncle Jason out in the nice weather. And now it's snowing! It's not cold enough for it to stick, though.

3/22: The sleepover I had at my house this weekend, which included dinner out and a U-Jam (dance workout) class, with Kiki and our friend, Amiee, was so much fun. I wish we could do that every weekend!

3/22: Someone painted her own toes.

3/24: Jared brought some interesting treats home for the girls and gave them to the girls when we got home from taking Easter portraits. They were so excited about getting suckers until they realized there were crickets in them, ha ha! Avery has actually been eating hers and got to the cricket and has been licking it. She thinks it's fake, ha ha ha! Their faces when they noticed the crickets were funny:

3/25: We took a ride on the Heber Valley Historic Railroad Easter Bunny train and had fun!

3/27, Easter Sunday!: We had blueberry pancakes with condensed milk for breakfast, then the girls played outside for a bit with Katie before getting ready for church.

After church, Kiki's family, Laura & her kids, Grandma, Jason, and Jenny Miller came over and we did an egg hunt for the kids after watching a church Easter video, then had a huge dinner, which included turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, homemade mac & cheese, artichoke casserole, sweet potato souffle, rolls, homemade bread, stuffing, and cupcakes!
