The girls are 6 months old! They had a dr. visit on Friday. Here are their stats:

Avery:
24 1/2 in. long (5-10 percentile)
13 lbs. 14 oz. (5-10%)

Makenna:
24 1/4 in. (5%)
14 lbs. 10 oz. (10-25%)

We woke up on their 1/2 birthday and Avery had cut a tooth! She won't let me take a good picture of it. Here's the best I could get:
1/2 Birthday pictures:

This past Sat., we went to Teresa's house. The girls were so grumpy, due to getting shots the previous day, teething, and being WAY too over-stimulated by all the kids. Makenna, especially, had a rough time. Avery was having fun at first, laughing really hard at Justin, but would not go down for a nap easily. It took Makenna a really long time to fall asleep for her nap--she had to nap with Daddy. Later that night at home, she had a REALLY rough night! We could not get her to go to bed and she started crying in pain and we realized she was extremely constipated. We massaged her tummy for a while, then I brought her onto the changing table and I had to help her get the poop out (sorry if TMI); it was so hard and big that it made her bleed! I was crying and ended up calling the dr. to see if we should bring her to the ER but he said it was normal and just give her some apple juice. So I ran to the store and got some and she was better by the next mid-morning. It was so traumatic for her and me!

Some other pics from the past couple of weeks:

{This is what happens if you put Avery in the bouncy seat w/o strapping her in (6/6)}:
You also can't leave her in the swing w/o strapping her in--she came awfully close to wriggling out of it one time! Jared put her in it and left the room but I was in there holding Makenna, thankfully. She's a squirmy worm! Ever since she started teething, she squirms all over the crib at night. I have to get up several times each night to move her away from the side of the crib. She puts her arms and legs through the slats, rams her head against them, or sleeps with her head smooshed against them and wakes up with a huge indention one her forehead! It's driving me insane. But I've started giving her pain reliever right before bed and that seems to help at least for the first few hours of bedtime.

{Makenna fell asleep in the walker one day--so cute!!! (6/12)}:
{The night my parents got to our house--we kept the girls up 'til 8:30 for them (6/14)}:
{Avery laughing at Maw-maw while I was feeding her (6/15}:

{OK, this is really gross but Makenna was playing in the baby gym one day and I saw her rubbing her face in the mat (which is normal for her) but then I noticed something on her face and realized it was puke that she had rubbed all over her face and into her eyelashes! (6/16)}:

Just some random cuteness, playing together (6/14):

First "fight" over a toy, ha ha! (6/14):

Pears, Playthings and a Puppy

PEARS
I gave the girls pears on Friday. I think Makenna liked them more than Avery, even though it doesn't look like it in this video:

After giving them a little bit of it, I started feeding them bottles but Makenna didn't want any of it. So I gave her more pear and she ate more of it, then took her bottle. Avery just about gagged on it (at around 30 seconds in the video), ha ha! Oh, and did you notice how Makenna is already grabbing at the spoon? How fun for me, right? I have a feeling she's gonna be really hard to feed as they start eating more and more!

PLAYTHINGS
The girls love playing with (make that sucking on, ha ha) these soft mermaid dolls that a friend of mine gave them. I love that last pic of Makenna!:
We received the bouncer I ordered Friday evening. The girls aren't tall enough yet to bounce in it but they still enjoy playing in it, like Makenna is here:

PUPPY
Makenna has taken a liking to our little dog, Cleo. It's so cute! And Cleo is SUCH a SWEET dog!:

It took Cleo a few minutes of putting up with Makenna pulling on her fur before she actually got up to get out of her reach. I hope she continues to be that patient and doesn't start avoiding the babies altogether--although I wouldn't blame her if she did, ha ha!

New toy!

I ordered the girls a walker and a bouncer this week; the walker arrived yesterday and I just had to put the girls in it immediately and take pictures and videos:

{Make sure you click on the pictures so you can view them full-size and see all the drool bombs!}

{M}:

They can't reach the floor just yet, still have an inch or two to go, but they like playing in it so far, as you can see in these videos (I didn't edit them, so they're a little long but some of you might enjoy just watching them for a few minutes):

Avery's been playing in it for the past 30+ min. as I type this. She doesn't seem to be getting tired of it yet. I'm gonna go let Makenna have a turn now, though. I'm sure I'll post videos of them in the bouncer, which should arrive today. :)
