Belle's dance recital

Jared wasn't able to leave work in time but I went and attended Belle's first dance recital. It was SOOOOO long (almost 3 hours!) but she was THE CUTEST one (no bias, ha ha)! She danced in two numbers:

Ballet:

Tap to "The Good Ship Lollipop"--it was SO CUTE!!:
As soon as Belle found us after the recital was over, she was ready to take pictures (without us even asking her to, ha ha--such a ham!):
It was a long recital but it was fun to watch Belle, and there were some other really cute/funny performances. WTG, Belle!!!

Disneyland 2007

Kiki invited me to go with her family to Disneyland again (will be the third time) in September. I finally finished scrapbooking my pictures from our trip in 2007, ha ha! Here's a picture slide of the scrapbook:

San Antonio

As a new lead supervisor, Jared was invited to his company's annual Leadership Conference, which was held in San Antonio this year. Spouses are always invited to the conferences, so I got to go with him! :) We flew to S.A. on Wed., 6/16. Once we checked in at Sunset Station, we walked to the Alamo and toured it.

This is St. Joseph Catholic Church, which we passed on our walk to the Alamo:
The Alamo is right smack in the middle of downtown S.A. Photos and videos are prohibited inside, so I could only get pictures outside:
After touring the Alamo and reading a lot about the war, we walked back to Sunset Station and ate lunch, after which we got on the bus to the resort at which we stayed the next four nights. The resort was awesome! Here are some pics I found online:
Our room looked something like this:
Two swimming pools, separated by a cascading waterfall and two outdoor spas (we got in one of the hot tubs one night):
A 950-foot Ramblin' River, which we floated on one night:

We had a dinner that night. There were 490 people from Jared's company! We were introduced as one of the new couples at the conference (I think there were 40 new managers and their spouses/guests).

Thursday, the spouses had buffet breakfast and free time while the employees had meetings. Aunt Cindy, who was there with her husband Jim (who is a manager in Utah), and I met up with Jared's great-uncle Paul and went to Wal-mart, ha ha. Then Cindy and I had to get back to the resort for a luncheon for spouses with the company founder, CEO, and wives of the two deceased founders.

That afternoon, we had a fun games activity. We were put on teams and had to complete all kinds of games/activities. Jared was put as our group leader. He did a great job! Some of the things we had to do were: a word un-scrambler, horse shoe throw, monkey bar crossing, singing a song around a campfire, water balloon catch, a water game:
plank-walking (we fell at the end and my foot got stuck--it bruised my left foot):
It was a really fun activity. That night was Fiesta/Cowboy night; everyone was supposed to dress up as either a cowboy or fiesta style. Here were our outfits, ha ha:
There was karaoke after dinner and I sang a couple of songs.

Friday, we all had breakfast together, then had a meeting, then lunch. After lunch, we were blessed to be able to participate in a service project in which we put together care packages (over 2000 total) for soldiers. Jared was somehow put in charge of our group for this, too. He must look like someone who should be in charge, ha ha! Again, he did an awesome job! Our group did over 100 boxes and finished first or just about first. It looks crazy but it was organized chaos:
We had a speaker from Sea World come and talk to us, then we all headed to Sea World for two private shows (Azul and Shamu) and had dinner.

Azul showcased Pacific white-sided dolphins and beluga whales and there were high divers, synchronized swimmer, aerialists, and bungee artists:
After the Azul show, we had dinner, at which Jared received a Savage ring. I am so proud of him! Here's Jared and Uncle Jim with their rings:
MY FAVE PART OF THE WHOLE TRIP--THE SHAMU SHOW! SO COOL!!!! There was one part that included a baby Orca but we weren't able to get good pictures of it. It was SO cute, though!
Aunt Cindy and Jim:

Most of the people from the conference left Saturday morning but we stayed one more night at the resort. We spent Saturday in San Antonio with Jared's boss, Dave, and his wife, Darlene. This is the River Walk; it's really pretty:
We took a boat tour of the River Walk, which was really cool!:
After the boat tour, I couldn't resist taking pictures of some baby ducks in the river. Aaaaw!:
We went through the Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum and their wax museum:
After getting some Haagen Daz ice cream, we took a trolley tour of the city and took photo stops at these two missions:
For dinner, we met Uncle Paul and his girlfriend at Dick's Last Resort. It is a really fun restaurant to eat at, with rude (on purpose), funny waiters who make paper hats and write insults on them and put them on customers and you can throw paper balls at other customers (the paper was really flying in there and we got some in other people's drinks and a brownie sundae, ha ha!):
Dave & Darlene's hats were a little raunchy but they were pretty funny:
Uncle Paul's hat was hilarious:

Sunday morning, we had a free buffet breakfast at the hotel, then headed to the airport to head home. It was a fabulous trip and I can't wait for the next conference! :)

Brenna's birthday party

My niece, Brenna, turned 2 this month. She had a Dora fiesta/pool party.

The cake was a strawberry shortcake layered cake, yum!:
The girls had fun in the pool with Uncle Timmy:
Brenna blew out her candles:
We gave her a piece of cake and she didn't want it, she said she wanted a cupcake but, after eating the mini Reese's peanut butter cup from the top of it and a lick of frosting, she didn't want it, either. She just wanted another peanut butter cup, silly girl:
She had fun opening presents. These sunglasses were part of her first gift and she loved them--kept them on the whole time she opened gifts:
After opening presents, the kids hit the pinata!
The kids got the body off and Tim finished off Dora's head--kind of demented, huh?
Belle had Timmy throw her up in the air several times. The higher, the better!
I'm pretty sure Brenna had a great time at her party! :)
