Fun Weekend!

First off, a picture I posted on Facebook on 4/24:

I still have not officially started potty training (I've been putting it off big-time) but today Avery peed in the potty twice and Makenna pooped in it! Woohoo! I really should do the actual training, huh?
P.S. Do you like Jared's mix 'n' match of the PJs?

On Friday (4/26), we took the girls to Mommy & Me Story Time at the library.  I put a ponytail and pigtails in their hair and couldn't resist snapping some photos of them before we left (pigtails for Makenna and a ponytail for Avery and new outfits!):

After leaving the library, we went and changed the oil in both of our vehicles and the girls loaded up on popcorn, fruit snacks and cookies in the waiting room.  We spent that evening in the backyard writing on the sidewalk with chalk, swinging on the swings, and having a weenie/s'mores roast in the new fire pit!

On Saturday (4/27), I went to a neighbor's baby shower, then we went to a nursery to buy stuff to plant our garden but I ended up just taking the girls home for lunch and Jared ended up going to a different nursery, then to Home Depot.  The girls enjoyed the warm weather with lunch on their picnic table on our deck:
That night, we drove to Heber to attend a cousin's wedding reception.  I didn't take any photos at the reception but I got a really cute video in the car on the way there; I love this video!:

Toni Tassin, Makenna loves the plantain you left here (baked then topped with cinnamon and honey).

The twins' new thing is "jumping"--lots of jumping! They only clear about 1/2" of air, ha ha, but it's so cute. And they always say, "Watch me! Watch me!" On another note, that Thum stuff that you paint on nails to stop thumb-sucking is NOT keeping Makenna from sucking her fingers. Even cayenne pepper isn't working. She actually asked me to put both on her fingers today, ha ha. Any suggestions??

It's a tad bit warmer today so the girls played outside with a neighbor (this is in the empty lot between our houses). Looking forward to enjoying more and more warm weather!

THIS is why I want to stop Makenna from sucking her fingers! It's never been this bad before but I definitely don't want it to get any worse!

And here a few more videos for your viewing pleasure:
Gold star if you can tell me which movie this is from (Avery, 4/13):

April week 2 & 3

4/9: We met a friend (Jared's coordinator in AZ) in Salt Lake to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings.  I didn't get any pics but we had a nice time and enjoyed the food.  Jared left on a business trip the next day and Makenna still wasn't feeling that great, so we didn't do very much most of the week.

4/11: We had an amazing Cajun feast at Kiki's--shrimp creole, ettouffe, crab cakes, red beans & rice, creme brulle, cornbread, and bread pudding.  A couple of Kiki's friends and some of Tim's friends, as well as Becca Abel from back home, spent the evening with us:

It was slightly warm that afternoon, so I let the girls play on their picnic table using beans, rice, and corn

Makenna chillin'--notice the runny nose  :(
Cute Carma
Tim modeling Carma's hat, ha ha!
Wy-wy showing Makenna how to play Plants vs. Zombies, which he is OBSESSED with!

4/11: The girls and I went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point and had a wonderful time:

I tried getting a photo of both girls in front of the tulips but Makenna just wanted to slide down the hill, little stinker!

The twins' favorite part was feeding the koi fish in the pond

4/13: Carma was baptized!  She was literally jumping up and down the whole time before the program started; she just couldn't contain her excitement.  We all went to Michael's parents' house for brunch afterward, where we had crepes and waffles with all kinds of fixins and all kinds of other goodies, including king cake made by Becca Abel!  I got home and got the girls down for a nap, then Kiki, Judson, Michael, and I went with my parents to do some baptisms at the temple, including my Maw-maw and Paw-paw, my dad's brother, grandparents, aunts and one of my mom's brothers and other family names.  It was really special.  It was Judson's first time doing temple baptisms!  Kiki and Carma spent the night at my house and we ordered pizza and watched "Lincoln", along with Becca Abel, who babysat the girls while I was at the temple.  What a great day!
4/14: My parents came to church with me.  Kiki and her family and Timmy came over for dinner that evening and we watched Duck Dynasty (my first time); we were laughing so hard at some parts.  Figures that those people are from Louisiana, ha ha!  My parents left the next morning to drive back to Louisiana, even though it had actually snowed a tiny bit here.  They went south, though, so they wouldn't have to go through CO.

I spent the next few days at home with the girls, just relaxing--especially since it got cold again, so we couldn't play outside.  :(

Jared got home really early in the morning on Friday, 4/19.  We went to a cousin's wedding that night and had fun seeing family.  We stopped to eat a really late dinner at Scaddy's on the way home and it was 10:30 before we got the girls to bed!  It was a fun night, though:

Jared had all the kids racing up and down the hallway after the reception.

The girls were having a great time until Avery got knocked down really, really hard by one of the kids.  She cried for quite a while and even passed out momentarily from crying so hard.  I felt so bad for her. She didn't sleep well that night, either; it may have been due to stomach issues but not sure.

Some Facebook posts from the past few days:
April 15:  Happy tears moment at bedtime: I asked Makenna if she loves Avery; her face lit up and she said, "YES!!", then she reached up to stroke Avery's hair. So sweet!

April 16:  I'll be finding things in weird places for a month from my mom putting dishes away, ha ha!

April 17:  Fixin to head out the door and I told the girls I need to grab my keys and wallet. Makenna said, "Wahyet? Whatsis a wahyet?" Maybe you had to be here but it was pretty dang cute.
