Avery laughing

While talking to Kiki yesterday, I was telling her how Avery had laughed on Sat. and I realized I totally forgot to post it, what with all the Easter pics. So here she is in all of her cuteness:

Here are some pics of the girls in some onesies I painted:

They fell asleep not long after I took those pics. I love how different the girls are. They look different, act different, sound different, and even sleep different. Makenna sleeps like a frog being dissected (remember that from high school?), ha ha, and Avery usually rolls over onto her side. Both cute!

Easter 2011

The girls' first Easter! We didn't do much--just went to church, came home and fed the girls then took pictures of them. I LOVE their dresses, which were given to us by a couple who live by Kiki (who I've gotten to know over the years). I made the shoes and headbands--I just happened to have fabric that was almost identical to the dress in my stash! I just had to buy the buttons.

I really missed being with family today, even though I was so thankful to have my own family and just be able to hang out and relax with them. I don't think we've ever just stayed home alone on Easter. In Utah, I always made a turkey dinner and had family over and in Louisiana, we always had a big dinner at my SIL's parents' house. I miss those big dinners, ha ha. We didn't even do Easter baskets this year--Jared and I both decided that we didn't need the candy and the girls certainly don't know the difference--what the heck would I put in a basket for them, anyway? I did get some pretty good pictures of them today, though!

First, after we put the girls to bed last night (Sat.), I saw this when I went and checked up on them later. I thought it was so cute, I had to bring Jared in to see and he wanted me to take pictures (they actually stayed asleep, even after the flash went off twice):

Without further ado, here are pics of the girls in their Easter dresses--I am too lazy to edit pics tonight, so all of the photos are straight out of the camera. I took SO many pictures and had a hard time narrowing it down to just a few, so I put them on Photobucket. Just go to:

Avery rolled over!

The girls were doing their usual tummy time on the floor yesterday when Avery just went ahead and rolled over to her back! I ran and grabbed the video recorder and put her back on her stomach and she did it again!

Also, I got both girls to actually hold and (kind of) shake a rattle. They've never really been able to hold onto them before. It's so fun how one day they can't do something and the very next day they can!

4 months old!!!!

Yesterday, the girls turned 4 months old! They had a check-up and Avery is 23 in., 11 lbs. 6 oz. and Makenna is 22 3/4 in., 11 lbs. 13 oz. They had to get shots and Makenna cried SO HARD and long I teared up a tiny bit and was extremely close to crying. If you know me, you know I have a needle phobia and it SUCKS to have to see my two babies get shots! Makenna started screaming right after we got in the room and screamed through the initial exam with the nurse and the weigh-in, then with the exam with the dr. And, of course, she was absolutely out-of-her-mind bawling when she got the shots. It took all my strength to not bawl with her. She cried forever! Avery cried a little bit but just for a couple of minutes. They both slept for a while when we got home and were a little cranky the rest of the day and evening but all I had to do was hold them and they were fine--I gave them Tylenol a couple of times, too.

The dr. said I could start feeding them rice cereal and give them apple juice if they are constipated (happens to Avery a lot). They are gonna stay on the preemie formula until 6 months but they do get to stop taking the iron and reflux med. I hope the reflux has really gone away.

Here are some pics from the past few days:

{Avery fell asleep while playing in the baby gym, 4/19--she's a little contortionist! She can tilt her head SO FAR BACK! And you should she how far she can bend her back backwards! She sleeps like this all the time.}:

{Just some pics of the girls in the outfits they wore to the dr., 4/20}:

{Later that day, they both liked sitting up on the couch, with the help of their Boppies}:

{But just a short while later, this happened--I did fix them so they didn't stay like that!}:

{Today, I tried them out in their Bumbos for the first time. They did OK. Makenna's head was a little more wobbly than Avery's, as you can see in the video below}:

We don't have any plans for Easter except to bring the girls to church in their incredibly cute dresses--pictures to come!

Kiki's visit

***WARNING--LOTS of pics!!!!***
Kiki and her family came and visited us this week. They got here Sunday and left on Wed. We had fun hanging out, playing the Wii together, checking out the Discovery Park in Safford, playing at a playground, watching movies, shopping, etc.

Carma was so excited when they got here, she was literally jumping up and down and clapping her hands. She LOVES the babies and they love her!

I got some pics of the girls in two of the onesies I just made (this first one is in honor of my brother, Ben, ha ha--family joke):

This is how I feed both girls at the same time. Boppies are AWESOME!!!

Carma loved making the babies smile:

Avery pretty much always has her tongue sticking out!

Kiki couldn't resist getting tons of pics of the girls doing tummy time on their Boppies:

Playing Guitar Hero--I love how Carma got into it!

At the Discovery Park in Safford:

The girls' first time playing outside, at the park:
Wy-wy:
Carma, eating part of the lunch we packed to eat at the park:
I caught a rare picture of Judson, ha ha!

Kiki, Carma and I played a game of Cootie and Carma quickly won:

We tried taking a "cousin picture" and, believe it or not, these are the best we got--Wyatt was definitely not cooperating (besides the fact that he refused to change out of his Incredibles pajamas, HA HA!:

By the end of the photo session, we had two screaming babies--Wyatt's expression tells what he thought of that, hee hee!
We did manage to get a couple of pretty cute ones of the girls, though:

And a good one of the girls with Aunt Kiki:
I'm really sad that they are gone; I wish they could have stayed longer. It sure was fun having them here and I miss them already!

So who's coming to visit next??? :)

More embellished onesies

Mommy and girls will match! :)

I'll take pics and post them when they actually wear them but wanted to go ahead and share.
