1/6: My girls just came in from playing in the snow for almost two and a half hours. They were cold and wet, even with wearing all their snow gear. They sure had a good time, though!
They have played with this Play-doh Cake Mountain for hours on end since we returned home from Louisiana. And I got a great deal on it when I bought it.
I almost forgot about these little doll night gowns that match their night gowns. We didn't bring them to Louisiana because we didn't want to bring any big dolls with us. They were so very excited to put them on their dolls. And they asked to take pictures, ha ha!
1/8: Blowing the diet at Brio Tuscan Grill, ha ha! The girls loved the calamari. Can't wait for the entrées!
1/9: We went sledding in Hoytsville (Jared's hometown) with my MIL, SIL, niece, and nephew. SO much fun! The sledding spot is actually on the road in the cemetery, ha ha! And the cemetery is kitty-corner from the property we own there. It's beautiful there.

1/10: Nothing like putting your kids to bed and settling down for some much needed relaxation, only to find out that your basement is in the process of flooding due to a burst water pipe. There were a couple of inches of water on the tile by the basement entrance and the carpet was soaked well into the room, more than 10 feet from the door. What a fun Sunday night we have had. Thank goodness we own a carpet cleaner, though! It was a true lifesaver, as well as the wet vac. We are so thankful this didn't happen while we were in Louisiana, though, and that Jared went downstairs before it got even worse!
1/12: Avery: "It's winter and they need blankets!" (Playdoh, ha ha)
1/13: Didn't feel like coming to the dinosaur museum today but I had already told them yesterday that we would go today. Hate when that happens, ha ha.
I was trying to explain to the girls why I'm not eating some of the same things that they've been eating--that I'm trying to lose weight and be healthy. Avery said, "But Mommy, I like you how you are!" *tears*
1/15: Fun with friends (Museum of Natural Curiosity)
Dinner was not on the diet plan! :P
1/16: The girls are outside sledding with their friend, Jason. Makenna came in for some water and said they're doing tricks--"I already did sideways and now I'm going to learn the spin!" :) We're supposed to get more snow this afternoon till early morning! 😀
1/17: I made boiled okra, along with tilapia and mashed potatoes, tonight. Avery said, "It looks like it has slobbers on it!" Ha ha! Jared calls it cow snot. Neither of the girls liked it. Avery ate one and nearly gagged on it. It's my favorite veggie and no one in my family likes it. :(
1/18: Staying cozy in my scrapbook room right next to the space heater. :)
1/19: She asked me to take a pic of her in my hat the other day.
1/25: The twins are sledding in the empty lot next door and Jared was shoveling the sidewalk. I hope no one builds a house there for a long time!
1/26: I finally got the girls' professional dance portraits a couple of weeks ago and had put them aside; I found them today and figured I might as well post them.
1/30: The girls thought it would be fun to put a Build-a-Bear shirt on Whiskers. He doesn't think it's so fun.
Tonight, Makenna lost her 2nd tooth (aka Jared pulled it using dental floss)! She FREAKED OUT when it bled a little but was eventually happy he did it. :)
2/1: I make "the best waffles evah!" [according to Avery] And they're whole wheat waffles with strawberries on top. :D
Thanks, Jason!! ♥U!
Sleeping in the living room tonight.
2/2: I just told the twins that they have to go to the doctor tomorrow to prepare for kindergarten. They don't want to go and I didn't even tell them they're getting shots! Not sure if I should tell them ahead of time or not. Or if I should have them separated while the shots are being administered. Avery is already saying that just Makenna can go to kindergarten, just from the thought of going to the doctor, much less getting shots! I'm no help because I have a great fear of needles! I think it might actually be harder now than when they were babies/toddlers. I'm glad Jared will be there with us.
2/3: Kindergarten checkup! They had to get their fingers pricked for a blood test, pee in a cup, and get shots. They were actually OK with the finger prick and actually peed in the cup easily (after drinking juice/water and with my help). They kicked and screamed for the shots, though! Jared had to hold them down and it was so sad it made me tear up. :( They got prizes, though, and we took them out to lunch at Arby's and they had a shake.

2/6: Daisy's baptism in Coalville, then lunch at Grandma's with all the family in attendance. Of course, the twins loved playing with cousins!
2/7: My Super Bowl buddies. They loved the puppy-monkey-baby commercial, ha ha! Go Broncos!
Later: The kids have been in bed for over an hour. They started being little monsters, so Jared put them in bed early (they must have been really tired because they went right to sleep, after screaming for a few minutes, ha ha), and I've been enjoying the game in peace with Whiskers.
Jared left on a trip on 2/10.
2/11: So my phone has this emergency feature (see photo). Jared and Kiki both just called me to see what the heck was going on because the phone must have sent an SOS message from my purse while walking into the rec. center for gymnastics! 😯 What are the chances that the little power button could be pressed three times in a row from within my purse? Sorry for the scare, Jared Kiki, but at least we know it works!
Valentine's Day: I made pink heart pancakes for breakfast, we ate chocolates, they gave me the present they picked out for me with Jared (mini rose plant in a lady bug planter), I gave them the presents from me and Jared (a valentine trash can for their room and hear piggy banks--Jared actually picked them out), opened another present for me (Hobby Lobby gift card) that Jared had put in with the girls' presents before he left on his trip, and we opened all the notes to each other from our "love notes" box (tradition we started last year). I printed some funny little animal themed valentines and they got a kick out of them.
Funny story about the mini rose plant: Jared had brought the girls shopping during my piano lessons on Monday. All week, Makenna talked about the surprise they got for me; she asked every day how many sleeps until Valentine's Day so they could give it to me. She told me that they hid it under Avery's bed (no, I never looked), that it was something I had to take care of (but it wasn't a kitten, ha ha!), and it had pink on it. I was pretty sure it was a plant with some kind of flower on it but it was still fun to finally see what it actually looked like! :D

The valentines we made for their joy school friend and neighbor friends, Jason & Bailey:
2/16: Joy school at our house:
2/17: Avery asked Makenna to help her look for something and Makenna said, "OK, but I don't want to spend all of my life looking for it!" Dramatic much? :)
2/18: Dinner with my cuties at Cafe Rio after dance class. Now they want to watch "Bolt" with me in the basement.
2/19: Just put the girls to bed after a busy day, now I get to watch the rest of LSU baseball game in peace. We went to Gymcats with friends and used the free open gym time the girls got at a birthday party. After running an errand and stopping for quick lunch, we went to Costco, where the girls ate tons of samples (they love going to Costco!). As soon as we got home, they went across the street to play with their friend, where they also were invited to stay for pizza and ice cream. They were pretty tired and grumpy by the time I got them to bed but they had a great day!
Makenna loved jumping off the vault into the foam blocks!
Woooohooooo! 12 innings in the opening game last night and the Tigers pulled off the win! Today, they beat Cincinnati much easier--4-0. :D Geaux Tigers!
