A day with Grandpa Lingmann

On Wednesday, 4/4, we drove up to Jared's grandpa's house and spent the afternoon with him. We had lunch together, visited, looked at pictures, and even went for a ride on his 4-wheeler. On the way home, we stopped at Grandma's house (Jared's mom) and had dinner with her and played for a bit. The girls were so tired from not taking a nap at Grandpa's but they had fun playing in Grandma's cardboard box house. Jared scared Makenna pretty bad with a toy dinosaur--she nearly broke free from the booster seat she was strapped into. Then, as she and Avery were playing in the cardboard box, Grandma was handing toys through one of the windows and Makenna freaked out at a Sully (the big, blue, nice, furry monster from Monsters, Inc.). She was scared of it the rest of the night. At one point, she was running into the room and literally stopped in her tracks because it was on the floor in her path. It was probably the funniest thing she's ever done. We were cracking up so bad! She was also scared of a plastic Barney. I hope she doesn't turn into a little scaredy cat! It was pretty funny, though! It was a fun day but we got home pretty late and were all exhausted.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

P.S. Notice the cute jeans I made using a couple of pairs of their Uncle Jason's old jeans.  I also made skirts from the same jeans and hope to post them soon.

*4/5:  It's quite scary to have both twins start going down the stairs (backwards) at the same time--especially if one goes faster than the other one, so you either let the 1st one go the rest of the way by herself (and hope she doesn't tumble) to watch over the 2nd one, or go ahead with the 1st one and hope the 2nd one doesn't tumble. Or do like me and end up picking one or both up. It will be really nice when they can both go up and down the stairs by themselves without me having to watch over them so much, though!

*Today:  Avery has become one stubborn little cuss of a toddler when I try to feed them by spoon. Yesterday, I was trying to feed them grits with (turkey) bacon bits in it and she cried and tried to take the spoon away the whole time I tried to feed them. I finally gave in and gave the spoon to her so then, of course, Makenna had to have a spoon, too. At least I was able to sneak bites in. Needless to say, they were covered in grits--not an easy clean up! Since I made a double batch, it was the same story this morning, ha ha. 

We wish everyone a very Happy Easter and hope we can all remember the true reason behind it, as well as have a special day with loved ones.
