Wow, as of this past Wed., it's already officially fall! I figured I'd better do a post about the rest of the summer, since my last post was on July 26! Looooong post with tons of photos, sorry!!
7/27: Daddy/daughter date. They went and got a drink from 7-11, Jared got his hair cut, they went and bought some fun stuff at the Dollar Tree (including foam planes to paint and fly, bubble wands, bracelets, bubble gum flavored toothpaste--they got one of each to bring home to Avery, as well), ate dinner at a Chinese restaurant, and took the car through a car wash (after waiting for several cars, Jared had to get out of line to bring Makenna inside to the bathroom, then get back in line, ha ha!).

Bigfoot Caught on video in Boone North Carolina
Bigfoot Caught on a video Boone, North, Carolina
Posted by Normangee Texas on Monday, August 10, 2015
Makenna watched the Bigfoot at least 50 times!
8/18: Caught in the act! Not only making a mess but playing with scissors.
8/18: Little Piano Teachers:
8/18: On our way home from a wonderful dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse with our friends (Jared's former boss in Louisiana), David and a couple of other Savage employees:
When we walked in the door after getting home from dinner that night, I heard Whiskers meowing and couldn't figure out at first where he was. Then I realized he was locked in our front-load washer! Apparently, Makenna had put him in there with his bowl of food before we left to eat dinner in Salt Lake. So he had been shut in there for over 3 hours, poor thing!!!
Oh, and Makenna was on a roll that day! As we were running around the house getting ready to meet Dave and Darlene in Salt Lake for dinner, Jared looked all over the house for his wallet. As I was fixing Makenna's hair, Avery said she remembered that Makenna had been playing with it the previous day. Then, Makenna said it was in a "nest" under her bed. Sure enough, Jared rifled through old baby blankets in the drawers under her bed and found his wallet--open, with crumpled up money stuffed inside. I thought it was hilarious. Jared didn't feel the same way. Ha ha!
8/19-8/22: Michelle and her 7 kids came and stayed with us for 3 nights. Laura and her 2 kids joined us for the last 2 nights, and Grandma came down for one of the days.

It was fun for the girls to have a cousin stay in their room for a few nights
The twins loved filling out their ABC papers, crossing off a letter each time they saw something that started with that letter.
Just havin' some fun! :D
After the museum, we all went to this really fun park and had ham on rolls and Yoo-hoos as a snack:
They had to go in time out for a bit because they took their shoes and socks off at the park:
Playing games on the Wii that night:
8/21: This (the adoption finalization) was 4 years ago today! The best 4 years of my life. :) I love my girls so much!
8/23: We stayed home from church today because I woke up not feeling well. Then, both girls said they didn't feel well this afternoon. Makenna actually asked if she could go get in bed and she's been sleeping there for a while. Now Avery is sleeping on the floor in my scrapbook room. I hope that their naps will help them and that they don't get more sick!
8/24: I've been listening to Avery sing all of the songs as she watches "My Little Pony: Rainbow Rocks". Oh, and she's singing into my instrument tuner, watching the lights on it. :D
8/27: The girls and I went to the Museum of Natural Curiosity all day--for over 6 hours!

Look what was delivered while we were at the museum! The twins have been playing on the piano a lot lately and keep saying they want to play my music. So I'm gonna start teaching them from this course and see how it goes. Wish me luck!

8/30: We drove up to Grandpa Lingmann's house for a family get-together:

Sheep in the field behind Grandpa's house
As we were walking out of Grandpa's house, Makenna asked, "Hey, did the sky just pee on me?" And, on the way home, Avery asked if she could take a bath when we got home because she smelled herself and she smelled like wet puppy dog, ha ha! They did a lot of running around and went out in the field with the sheep at Grandpa's.
9/1: First day of joy school! The twins loved it.
Joy school friends, all cuties!
9/4: On our way to Fort Bridger for the Mountain Man Rendezvous, we stopped in Evanston to have lunch at Rancheritos with Grandpa.

We stayed in a hotel in Evanston that night and went swimming as soon as we got there from the rendezvous. By the time we went and ate dinner next door, it was 9:00. Late bedtime for the twins that night! And early morning the next day!
9/5: Another fun day at the Rendezvous, this time with Laura and her kids and Grandma.

Jared, Makenna, and Daisy went and did the Indian dance around the circle
Due to not getting much sleep the night before, the girls were ready to go after just a couple of hours at the rendezvous, so we left there by noon. That evening, the lady who was Jared's coordinator in AZ and her husband came and stayed the night at our house; they were up here to help their daughter move here. We had their daughter over for dinner, as well, and they left the next morning.
9/7: Avery said, "He's tucked in like a little chipmunk!"
9/8: We watched Descendants and the girls loved the music in it. Avery got up and danced to every song.
9/11: The girls are watching Pee-wee's Big Adventure for the first time and are getting a big kick out of it. They are commenting on everything he does. Avery just said, "What the?" as I was writing this, ha ha.
9/11: Makenna worked on one of the songs from our first piano lesson:
9/12: The girls and I had a really nice time at a church party this evening and now we're home in time to root for my Tigers in a few minutes. GEAUX Tigers!!
9/13: Mommy, I want the jets on!
9/13: Tomatoes, anyone? Makenna and I picked all of this today! Avery is happy about all of the cherry tomatoes--a bag full and there's still lots more to pick! Not to mention squash, onions, jalapeños, bell peppers, strawberries, and cucumbers.
9/17: The cotton swab skeletons we made in joy school today. Mine, Avery's, and Makenna's. :D
I love these! I can't ever find them around here, so Jared always brings some home for me when he sees them on his trips. #truelove
9/18: Whew, I'm pooped! We went to the dinosaur museum with friends, then we all went and got ice cream. Our friends had to head home but the girls and I headed over to Farm Country and Jared met us there on his way home from SLC. We saw all of the animals, took a wagon ride, and the girls rode the ponies three times. Then, Jared took us to Popeye's for dinner.

9/28: It has taken 5 visits over the last couple of years for the twins to let the dental assistant clean their teeth (they even let her floss, rinse, and suction) and the dentist to easily count their teeth. Makenna took a bit of coaxing but, once she started letting the dental assistant clean, she didn't resist anything else. They both did great. When we got home (after getting prizes at the Dollar Tree and shopping at Walmart), Makenna said, "I love Dr. Swenson!" BTW, before we left home for the appointment, Makenna was pouting that she didn't want to go to the dentist. We've finally made progress!
9/29: Jared took the girls outside to play and help him in the yard while I taught piano lessons today. Makenna said she was tired and came in and sat on the couch before my last lesson and fell asleep during that lesson. She had a slight fever by the time she went to bed so, hopefully, she won't get really sick.
9/29: Kids do the funniest things! They said the tigers are on a leash and I saw that they piled a bunch of princesses and other figurines in the tower of the castle. Just some of the little things that make me smile.
Makenna was totally fine today, thank goodness, so not sure why she didn't feel well yesterday evening and had a little fever last night. We didn't do much today because a guy was here fixing our a/c and doing a furnace check for 1/2 the day. It cost us a lot of money! :( But at least we're all set for the upcoming winter and will be good to go by next summer.
P.S. We have new neighbors and they have a 5yo girl! Just what we were hoping for! :) And they are right across the street!
Sorry for the long post!!!
